METHOD Use one sheet of pastry to line a 20 cm square shallow cake tin. (8 inch) Sprinkle onion, bacon and mixed vegetables evenly over pastry. dot the chutney on top. Break eggs evenly over, pricking the yolks so they run slightly. Carefully lift second sheet of pastry over filling. brush top with milk. bake at 200C (400 F) for 40 minutes or until well risen and golden. To serve - cut into squares. Serve hot or cold. |

Spicy Bacon Breadsticks |

An easy to prepare and delicious idea to add some bite to your bacon! INGREDIENTS Yield: 10 sticks. 1/2 cup light brown sugar |

METHOD Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the brown sugar and pepper on a flat plate. Wrap each slice of bacon around a breadstick, spiraling it so that it almost covers the whole stick. Roll the bacon-wrapped breadstick in the brown sugar mixture until coated. Place on a a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until browned. Allow the breadsticks to cool slightly so that the bacon crisps up. Serve immediately. |
