Pudding Stacks

 
 

A great way to add a new dimension to traditional Irish pudding. Why not try as a tasty lunchtime snack or as a striking starter?

INGREDIENTS

1 black or white pudding
Good quality cheddar cheese

Pudding Stacks

METHOD

Slice the pudding and cheese and layer them alternately on top of each other creating a stack on the centre of the plate. place in the microwave and cook on full power for two minutes.

Serve the pudding stack with tomato relish and a crispy baguette.

 

Breaded Bacon

 
 

Bring some extra flavours to your breakfast bacon with this easy to prepare recipe. Try it out for dinner with your favourite vegetables or maybe a slice of pineapple!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound thick-sliced bacon

Breaded Bacon

METHOD

Mix dry ingredients and coat bacon with mixture.

Fry bacon to desired crispness.

 

Bacon & Egg Pie

 
 

Enjoy the great tastes of a traditional Irish breakfast in a completely new way with this delicious recipe. Great for a party or serve with a side salad as a simple lunch or starter!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 6

2 sheets pre-rolled flaky pastry
1 onion chopped
1 cup chopped bacon
1/2 cup mixed vegetables
2 tablespoons spicy chutney
6 eggs
milk

Bacon and Egg Pie

METHOD

Use one sheet of pastry to line a 20 cm square shallow cake tin. (8 inch) Sprinkle onion, bacon and mixed vegetables evenly over pastry. dot the chutney on top. Break eggs evenly over, pricking the yolks so they run slightly. Carefully lift second sheet of pastry over filling. brush top with milk. bake at 200C (400 F) for 40 minutes or until well risen and golden.

To serve - cut into squares. Serve hot or cold.

 

Spicy Bacon Breadsticks

 
 

An easy to prepare and delicious idea to add some bite to your bacon!

INGREDIENTS

Yield: 10 sticks.

1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground red cayenne pepper
10 slices of bacon
10 crispy breadsticks

Bacon Breadsticks

METHOD

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the brown sugar and pepper on a flat plate. Wrap each slice of bacon around a breadstick, spiraling it so that it almost covers the whole stick. Roll the bacon-wrapped breadstick in the brown sugar mixture until coated. Place on a a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until browned. Allow the breadsticks to cool slightly so that the bacon crisps up. Serve immediately.
